E6! 333 sent this to Thelema93-L@yahoogroups: >> I would like it if someone would be kind enough to offer their >> evaluation of the work of Fr. Eschelmann mentioned above and >> whether it conforms with the ideas the reviewer has of the AA >> of their acquaintance (preferrably helpfully specified). and then made the following inquiries concerning it.... are there substantial differences in different sources of acquisition? I'll look at Amazon or Zshops first for used. where do Grant and Bertiaux explicitly describe the structure and content/works of the A.'.A.'. as they understand them? do they use the same initials/name for it? do they agree that the A.'.A.'. is the same thing as the Great White Brotherhood? how do they differ from one another? can we compare and contrast the different visions which a variety of proponents put forward concerning their A.'.A.'.? i.e. how they may differ on points and where they share ideas? I gather a good part of it derives from "Cloud Upon the Sanctuary" by von Eckharthausen, and the notion of an invisible fraternity of spiritual adepts. it gains very wide exposure in Bulwer-Lytton's "Zazoni" and has many correlates as it reaches into the Rosicrucian and countless other mystical communities wherein the notion is shared in parallel at least (e.g. the Chinese Celestial Masters). I'm curious how far afield those who identify it as some kind of "A.'.A.'." may go, however, and what justification they bring to their more extreme positions on what the AA is. re Grant's "Magical Revival" and "Aleister Crowley and the Hidden God": are these the best expositions of Grant's AA ideas? I have them and would be happy to sort through them and quote their relevant passages about general descriptors of the AA if so. re Michael Bertiaux: I gather some of his material may be online, but generally I haven't noticed it is receiving wide dispersal, so any summaries offered here would be welcomed. re "the A.A. system": calling the AA a "system"... is one of the possible takes on it (comparable to the Golden Dawn I guess). is there an actual original text which pertains to the AA? would modern neo-Gnostics ascribe it to Hermes Trismegistus and locate it in the Nag Hammadi scripts, for example? how far back can we make reliable connections in terms of method and instructional content? what is its overall aim and result, by your assessment? I have obtained many ...recommendations for this text by reliable resources and will eventually obtain a copy and use it to supplement discussion here of the character and content of this system/order/thing.
