Back in Grady's days, there was a separate EGC under the Patriarchate, as well as the continuing EGC in OTO that survives today. The details of regulation under the separate EGC were more stringent than under the EGC in OTO, but both allowed non EGC/OTO members to act as officers in the Mass om those days, so long as either the Priest or Priestess was ordained. Bertiaux has a valid consecration in the Gnostic Catholic Church, but he is not an EGC bishop. His ordinations do not satisfy conditions for present EGC regulation, unless admitted by a separate act of record by the OTO EGC section. Unofficial Masses are another matter entirely, more along the lines of official masses in Grady's days, at least in some instances. Note that both EGC and GCC are descendants of the Episcopi Vegrantis from the schism of Utrecht in 1739 e.v., although the GCC existed out of Doinel's astral consecration for quite a while before merging with that line. GCC merged into OTO in the first quarter of the 20th century, about the time the lines converged. Under Reuss and Crowley, EGC was created out of that, with modifications in the OTO initiation rituals to incorporate some of the religious aspects and with the writing of Liber XV. EGC is not the only religious part of OTO. A change from Christianity to Thelema was part of that melding, completed under Crowley's tenure as Frater Superior and Patriarch. 93 93/93 Bill Heidrick ____________...oooOOO---thelema93-l@hollyfeld.org---OOOooo..._____________ To subscribe send: 'subscribe thelema93-l' to majordomo@hollyfeld.org To unsubscribe send: 'unsubscribe thelema93-l' to majordomo@hollyfeld.org http://www.hollyfeld.org/heaven
