To: alt.satanism From: Michael.Aquino@125-430.astaroth.sacbbx.com (Michael Aquino) Subject: Re: ToS, Daath, Christ, Satan: some thoughts Date: 49941024 The term "Cabala" (Kabbalah, Qabala) can be used in a number of different ways, and there are many trends and schools of thought concerning its nature and use. Historically it is a somewhat hodge-podge collection of religion, superstition, and magic that came together in the medieval period and has been changing ever since. The Rosicrucians and the Masons like it, because it is such a colorful omelet of esoterica. So today you can pretty much do with it what you want to, and there is no Cabala authority to tell you you can't! Aleister Crowley used the term "Qabala" to represent an individual's way of codifying his comprehension of the universe. He emphasized that this was unique to each person: "My Qabala is not your Qabala". You might find a study of some of his writings on the subject helpful. As for your concept of crossing the Abyss, you obviously do retain both the capacity for fear and your individual ego ["you" being KC, not in the abstract]. Fear is a mark of higher intelligence, and so is a positive affirmation and expression of self ("ego"). So if you were to design an "Abyss" like that for yourself, why would you want to cross it?
