To: alt.magick From: jrp@accint.com (Jason R. Pascucci) Subject: The A.'.A.'. (9408.the-aa-.jrp) Date: 49940811 My understanding of the nature of the AA follows. This is a summary of something I wrote a while back and never posted because it did not seem appropriate at the time. The most important thing one can say is that the members of these orders are de facto, and not in nomen. Initiation is 'Universal'. The nature of the first and second groups of A.'.A.'. is clear: to further the Great Work using the methods of Scientific Illuminism. Even if you have never heard of A.C., if one persue the same paths, one may have had the same attainment as an E.A., because one Experiences the same Initiations. One is therefore rightly called an E.A. of the A.'.A.'.. Descendant lineage implies the most direct, and hence by the A.'.A.'.'s 'morality', the most 'correct' form of achieving Attainment. Mind you, it is very difficult to discern one Initiate of a Grade from another Grade. Review of the literature, signs and sigals, etc, might be used to test lineage, but not attainment. The nature of these Initiations are such that a good idea can be garnered, but no 'facts' can be produced, and a student of the A.'.A.'. must subsist only on 'facts'. Therefore, it is within reason to take each person at their Word in such cases, and let them prove themselves false. Regardless, however, one's opinion of another's Attainment is unimportant. But, while a Sufi Master might be recognizable as an E.A. Initiate, because he does not follow the same paths as the E.A. of the A.'.A.'., he can't really be rightly called an E.A. of the A.'.A.'. (A semantic difference, however, and of only minor meaning). Now, we get to the third grouping, M.T., M., and I. And this is where it gets fairly difficult to pin down, after all, the schism between this and the lower are the schisms between man and God: actual vs ideal. These individuals (if They can be called that) are all part of what has been called the 'Great White Brotherhood'. Or, alternately, the highest of the G.D., or of the "R.C.", or the "Sun-Masters", the higest of the "Bodhisattvas", or of the O.M., or whatever name and title someone made up to get the point across. (From now on, I'll use GWB, because it is convenient). A Sufi Master of the appropriate Initiation can be appropriately called a M.T., or as appropriately as a person who rose through the ranks of the A.'.A.', for they are both Lies. Their paths are the same. It is impossible to discern a Member of the GWB from someone else, if you are not 'supposed to'. I have been of the theory that each drunk beggar on the street is probably an I., and thus treat Them with the contempt They deserve. Or not, at my Will. Like the Buddha, if you meet one of These on the road, strike off his Head. Or not. --Jason -- Jason R.
