To: alt.magick.tyagi,alt.magick.order,talk.philosophy.misc From: tyagi@houseofkaos.abyss.com (mordred) Subject: NCowhan: Thelema and (vs.?) Crowley Date: 19 May 1995 07:10:10 -0700 [from alt.magick: Nyk Cowham] In article <3p2h76$rc9@news.acns.nwu.edu> wabehun@merle.acns.nwu.edu "William Behun" writes: > 93! > > Greetings, all. > > I have a question to pose. These writers and their bodies of literature, I have always identified as being from my own 'invisible college'. Crowley is simply one more addition to this current. Indeed, he openly acknowledged his indebtedness to these creators. In particular, he mentions Nietzsche as "one of our prophets" - (In "Magick Without Tears", I believe). It is the strong tradition of enlightened antinomianism (in the narrowest definition of Thelema). We are all locked in a dialogue with the past and those who have built upon their own history. Our only evolutionary imperative is to help create the conditions which will facilitate the emergence of conscious-entities of a greater magnitude than those we currently admire. What is certain, is that Thelema will be independent of any personality, if we so will it to be. The above is all bullshit, but might be useful yet.
