From: BHeidrick@aol.com Subject: Re: Martinism + OTO etc Date: Mon, 20 Feb 1995 01:00:18 -0500 93 Martin, It would be interesting to see the documents you mention. A lot of unnecessary doubt gets cast about without :-) >Mr. Bertiaux make no claims in the OTO direction except for his >sacramental exchange some years ago with the current Caliph. Michael did consecrate the present Head of O.T.O. before the latter joined O.T.O. >One question: under what condtions and by whom was Krumm Heller >chartered to found the OTOA? Some background: Arnoldo (born Arnold) Krumm-Heller, born Salchendorf, Germany, April 15, 1876. Received a document from Papus 3/3/08 e.v., appointing him "Delegue General pour le Chili, Perou et Bolivie" of the Martinist Order. Received from Reuss (O.T.O.) "General Gross- Representanten fur Mexico" of the Sovereign Sanctuary of the Antient and Primitive Rite of Memphis and Mizraim, 3/15/08 e.v. Consecrated in the Gnostic Church of H.C.Peithmann between 1910 and 1920 e.v. Died in Marburg in 1949 e.v. Krumm-Heller kept his F.R.A. work separate from O.T.O. work, and established D.R.Ballester as head of the F.R.A. work only in the region of Spain. (Ballester died 1980 e.v.) Krumm-Heller founded F.R.A. (Fraternitas Rosicruciana Antiqua) between 1910 and the beginning of WWI, founding at about the same time O.T.O.A. (Ordo Templi Orientis Antiqua) to separately handle the O.T.O. authority from Reuss. He originated O.T.O.A. under charter from Reuss. The regional for F.R.A. in Cuba was Frater Thelemako. I don't know if he also had O.T.O.A, but it's possible. That would have made him Toca's predecessor. Much of the above information comes via A. Krumm-Heller's son, principally the dates and names as well as the F.R.A. detail. All surviving O.T.O.A. claimants out of South America and Cuba refer to A. K-H. as the founder of O.T.O.A., in my experience. Say hello to Michael for me. I haven't had much contact since the 70's e.v., other than to mail him a complimentary _Magical Link_. 93 93/93 Bill
