In regard to brother Bill's comments on "rocks of light"
(as they are sarcastically known in Buffalo, NY) I offer my recipe
for Gnostic Mass wafers that melt in your mouth.
aquire at least 1tsp of the "blood" of your choice
sift 2 cups unbleached unbromated fine milled white flour
(King Arthur works fine; so does Pillsbury unbleached) into a bowl
rubbing in 3Tsp of honey and the thrown sediment from a bottle
of good vintage port (I use Graham's Malvados, at least 8 years
old)
add 2/3 cups virgin olive oil with oil of Abramelin to taste
mixing these into the flour/honey/leavings with hands or a fork.
(be carful to use an Abramelin oil that is non-synthetic and
free of chemicals used in "hot extraction techniques")
kneed in blood
roll out to 1/4 inch thickness, cut in small rounds (a well oiled
lipstick cover is my tool of choice) and if desired stamp with a
design (some years ago I made a unicursal hexagram stamp out of
Sculpy TM modeling clay that works quite well)
bake at 425 degrees F for less than 10 minutes (as soon as the
edges JUST start to brown GET THEM OUT OF THE OVEN AND OFF THE
COOKIE SHEET!)
This will get you about 160 Cakes of Light that will
keep almost indefinatly in a closed container in the freezer. If
you prefer storage in the altar, edible life will depend on
climactic conditions and your tolerance for semi-rancid olive
oil. (I have several jars labeled "vintage ____ for incense use
only" in my combustables supply drawer.
Another thing - A.C.'s statment about actually finding
beetles infesting Boleskine is not to be taken lightly - I once
tried keeping my cakes in an orgone box that had a hole in the
lid. This was stored in my altar. One day I found about 2 dozen
horned beetles in with the cakes; unfortunatly they were all
dead on discovery (no chance to crush while still animate.)
Love is the law, love under will.
