That's true as far as it goes, but my [and the Temple of Set's] response to
the "Satanic crime" mania went far beyond a mere personal defense to an attack
on the entire "industry". A great many other people, both occultists and
non-occultists, were being victimized by that epidemic, and it was the work of
years to definitively expose and discredit the whole shoddy business.
Obviously the Temple of Set and I don't claim sole credit for this, as the
FBI, several courageous & principled media, many law enforcement agencies, and
even some principled Christian sources like _Cornerstone_ magazine, all rolled
up their sleeves and did their part.

Anton LaVey, who could have been a major influence, did absolutely nothing. In
fact, when my wife and I were accused, he said and did all that he could
behind the scenes to try to increase the witch-hunt against us, even at the
cost of furthering the "Satanic abuse" scam. I could forgive him a great many
things, but I will never forgive him for this.

I think that the question "Do Setians worship Set?" has been adequately
answered here previously. "Worship" is an inappropriate term, connotating as
it does an ignorant, superstitious slave-relationship to a deity or deities
usually only dimly conceptualized as glorified cartoons. In this sense Setians
do not worship Set. Setians do presume, or acknowledge, the existence of Set
as a finite being of self-consciousness in the universe: indeed the Form of
all particularizations of self-consciousness. This Form is held to be sacred,
and is revered accordingly.
