'definition' is what is given to the dead or the fictional. ideals
can be valuable inasmuch as they show us through contrast directions
we have to grow. beyond this they are fairly useless as parameters
of 'perfection'.

"Carlo" :

LaVey and others have addressed these types. they are 'de facto'
Satanists, since we would categorize them as such but they would
not understand themselves in this way. few are without troubles
as your text seems to imply, though it is often comforting to
imagine an ideal icon.

>Such people are chosen. Perhaps genetically. The rest are wanna-bes. The
>Satanic issue may be a foreshadowing of our common genetic future. One in
>which the malfunctions of today which make social morals, guilt, laws and
>other restrictions unnecessary. As always, Life has the avant garde to push
>the envelope. They are ahead of their time.

we all have the potential to live this way, and that's why your latter
comment about vilifying and misunderstanding them makes sense. it is
difficult to be around the mature at times unless they are concealed.
it places into contrast our inadequacies and variations from the ideal.

>The rest of us either vilify or misunderstand them, as history clearly
>shows. More often than not, we simply don't see the genuine article
>because of the subtle and internal nature of the mutation.
>Comments?

I doubt some of your characteristics are truly necessary. first off,
it doesn't matter whether or not this ideal is involved with Satanism
or occult things. some are, some aren't. I suspect that the 'realism'
of which you speak is better identified as 'groundedness': a connection
to the material world in a direct way. it is possible to be adept at
magical or mystical exploits and retain this connection. if the person
is invisible it is because they are naturally so or have learned that
invisibility is important in the carrying out of their will.

'beauty' is a socially-defined norm of human standards which breaks down
when analyzed, reaffirmed as physical health and well-being (this latter
may be seen and is a 'natural beauty' which is more important to
experience and far less trouble than conforming to the visible social
style). unfortunately only the socially-affirmed and those who have
got the point of not caring how they appear tend to reach this state.

'intelligence' is usually over-rated, being restricted to intellectual
acumen, when open-mindedness and curiosity naturally arise from those
who enjoy learning. there are many types of intelligence, and
'IQ tests' only evaluation a bare fraction of this quality.

sexuality is the option of the liberated, though some will pursue the
course of less intimacy on account of other interests. the real quality
to which you point here is being COMFORTABLE with their bodies, and with
physical intimacy, ecstasy, and the various smelly, gooey things that
these include.

'wealth' is a function of relation to resources. the way to measure this
is likely best done in reflection of free time, and this again is another
SUBJECTIVE standard. those who have massive amounts of cash may be
slaves to it. those with little may be incredibly free and wealthy.

personal power is a reflection of assurance and confidence, some of which
has already been mentioned above (comfort with body, mind, etc.), and yet
it also describes a kind of skill where socialization is concerned. in
general you are describing a person who is well-developed, mature, and
able to comfortably utilize a variety of personal and social skills.

an understanding (whether or not it is conscious) of the flows and ebbs
of natural energies is also the quality of the mature. this leads to
circumstances which appear 'charmed' to the uninitiated.

innocence and freedom from guilt and shame describe an individual who
has somehow wended live's travails with the result being equanimity
(NOT as children, but with what zen masters call 'beginners' mind'
-- an open wonder and joy which reflects present-centeredness and the
ability to abandon an otherwise valuable critical skepticism).

>Things just seem to go right for them. We may even hate them for this.

resentment builds in those who judge themselves based in comparison
with those around them. this is especially true when an individual
appears not to be suffering the difficulties normally associated with
standard life circumstances. they appear to 'float above the pain'
or 'walk through unscathed', and we don't see that their nonattached
attitude ("this too shall pass") avails them of a freedom that those
who obsess over condition may never obtain.

blessed beast!
