To: alt.magick.tyagi,alt.magick,alt.occult.kabbalah,talk.religion.newage,talk.religion.misc,alt.consciousness.mysticism From: tyagi@houseofkaos.abyss.com (nagasiva) Subject: PMaison: QBL/Gimel Date: 13 Sep 1997 12:29:17 -0700 [from kabbalah-l@hollyfeld.org: Patricia (pmaison@lvx.netkonect.co.uk)] Greetings to All, I thought of sharing with you some of my Qabalistic investigations regarding the path of Gimel on the Tree of Life. On the Tree of Life, the path of Gimel is the 13th path. If you don't know how we arrive at this number, we first count the 10 sephiroth, then begin counting the paths (Aleph = 11th path, Beth = 12th, Gimel = 13th, etc.). Right away we might notice a relationship between the number 13 and the story of Isis "re-membering" the body of Osiris. There are two Hebrew words which, if you add the values of their letters, sum to the number 13: AHBH (Ahebah), meaning "Love", and AChD (Achad), "unity". Certainly the energy of Isis is one of LOVE, and this love is a UNIFYING force -- one which "re-members" those parts of ourselves that are broken, and reanimates those parts that are dead. The path of Gimel also holds within it the subconscious record of all cosmic history. In the macrocosmic sense, it is the universal "memory". Of course, in the microcosm, it relates to our personal faculty of memory. Qabalists call Gimel the "Uniting Intelligence". Once again, "re-membering". On the Tree of Life, it unites Tiphareth to Kether. It is also called the "Conductive Intelligence of Unity". In Hebrew, it is "Menahig ha-achadoth", literally "Driver of the Unities". This should ring with the meaning of the letter Gimel: "camel". Words "ha-achadoth" veil an interesting concept. If we break-down "ha-achadoth" (H-AChDVTh), we find the following: 1) "Ha", the letter Heh, meaning the word "The", and also a special title for the third sephira, Binah, The Mother. 2) "Achad", AChD, meaning "unity" and "one", suggesting the "first" in a series, just as Kether is first among the 10 sephiroth and thus the first path of the Tree. 3) Vav, V, which, in Hebrew, is used as the conjunction "and". 4) Tav, Th, suggesting the "last", since it is the last of the Hebrew letters, and the last of the paths of the Tree. If we put this together, we arrive at: H-AChDVTh: H + AChD + V + Th = "The (H) first (AChD) and (V) the last (Th)." or "The Mother (H) is first (AChD) and (V) last (Th)." This may seem trivial to you, but there is much to be meditated upon. In it is suggested the key of mystical union. LVX galore!
