That idea helps when it's affecting only my magickal work. When it flows into multiple areas of my life, I usually need to be reminded that ultimately it's no big deal. Knowing about these things in advance sometimes doesn't help. But I'm working on it. :) > So if I may, do you ascribe to the theory that as one progresses they > move from sefirah to sefirah, in a reverse lightning flash? Whatcha think? I think climbing the Tree in that sense is a false idea too. I have been "stuck" before in various Sephiroth for short periods of time. Almost to the point of it becoming Qlipothic, until I recognized it and regained balance. But I naturally jump around, not going from Sephira to Sephira consecutively. As a measure of "attainment", it's akin to the Fool's Journey in Tarot. It's a neatly arranged philosophical theory, that's about the nicest thing to say about it. It doesn't mesh well with the practical, real world, where things can get a bit messy. We don't all face the same situations, see and feel the same things, "attain" the same things, in the same order. I'm guessing that this idea came about through the Golden Dawn. The Tree of Life *is* a convenient model to base a hierarchy on. But I think it's foolish to assume that we all spiritually evolve by deliberately climbing the Tree.
