BTW, *both* my Bibles > don't list 'kagel' or 'kigel' or 'kaigle' between their covers. Could > you please provide a concise definition? It's spelled "Kegel." The technique of strengthening the perineum of both women and men by clenching and releasing the muscles used in cutting off the stream of urine was known in most cultures long before Dr. Kegel prescribed it for women experiencng loss of vaginal muscle tone after childbirth and for women with incontinence problems. The most common way to *find* the muscles is to start to pee, then make yourself stop. THOSE are the muscles. Don't do the exercise while peeing, though. To perform Kegels, just clench those muscles on a *very slow* 1-2 count (one on, two off) 20 times. Then relax. Breathe deeply three times while relaxing. Then do another set of 20 reps. Relax and breathe again. (How slow is *very slow*? Oh, let's take a song everybody probably knows...like..."Louie Louie" ...Here's how i'd do it to the tmpo of that song: Louie Louie (on) oh oh (off) me gotta go (on) yeah yeah yeah (off) The first few days you may only be able to do two sets of 20 reps (a total of 40 Kegels), but by the end of a week you will be able to do 5 sets of 20 (100 clenches in all). This is the recommended minimum for lifetime maintanance of these muscles. The excercise can easily be done while sitting at your computer at work or driving in a car. If you want to build up more control, do two 5-set groups, for a total of 200 clenches, per day.
