I must reiterate my sources again. According to "the Holy Science", p15,
"The astronomers and astrologers who calculate the almanacs have been
guided by wrong annotations of certain Sanskrit scholars (such as Kulluka
Bhatta) of the dark age of Kali Yuga, and now maintain that the length of
Kali Yuga is 432, 000 years, of which 4994 have (written in A.D. 1894 ...
so aparently the number is now 5094) passed away, leaving 427,006 years
still remaining. A dark prospect! and unfortunately one not true. ..."
So, this contradicts what Tyagi said, because if you divide 4.32 million
years by 4+3+2+1 = 10, you attain the 430,000 number that he said.
Additionally, Swami Sri Yukteswar noted in the "Holy Science", that
the length of the entire yuga cycle that he was referring to was one of
24,000 years. If you again divide this by 10, you attain a 2,400 year
duration of the Kali yuga ....... not the 5000 years mentioned by J.
Shridhar. I should also mention, that on pg 194 of "Autobiography of a
Yogi", by Paramahansa Yogananda; that there is a footnote which further
discusses Sri Yukteswar's yugas. It does note the following, "The Hindu
scriputres place the present world-age as occuring within the Kali Yuga
of a much longer universal cycle than the simple 24,000- year cycle
with which Sri Yukteswar was concerned. The Universal cycle is
4,300,560,000 years (not 4.3 million, but 4.3 BILLION years) in extent, and
measures out a Day of Creation .... "

>	approaching the changeover from Kali to Krutha yuga. This implies

According to Swami Sri Yukteswar, we are now in the Dwapara Yuga .....
However, the 2,400 years of the Kali-yuga that I mentioned before, are
divided into two periods, a descending and acsending period each of 1,200
years. Although 4,800 years of the 24,000 year cycle are spent in
the Dwapara yugas, we are in an ascending Dwapara yuga that lasts for
2,400 years. Of this 2,400 years, the actual length is 2000 years,
because there are two sandhis of 200 years that this sign makes with
respect to the preceeding and succeeding yugas. In the year 1894,
Sri Yukteswar noted that 194 years of the Dwapara yuga had passed.
So, unless I have made a mistake, that places us into the 294th year
of the ascending Dwapara yuga.

>	wholesale destruction of life on earth. Kalki will be born to

Perhaps the worldwide destruction that has been occuring is due to the
fact that the ascending Dwapara yuga that we are in is now fully clearing
it's sandhis with respect to the preceeding Kali yuga age ..... but that
is just a thought .......
