Innocence is questionable, since to achieve his ends Chick presents falsehoods as truths and rumor as reality, in order to pretend that he alone understands Masonry, and therefore he alone can present it's true evil nature. This militates against the even more laughable claim that his view is no more wrong and just as complete, since he omits key information (eg. that he is taking material from the admitted hoax perpetrated by Taxil) abd displays numerous errors of fact. > life isn't the battle between good and evil > its between good and the lesser good > chick has dozens of those little picture books > very entertaining They are indeed entertaining, but perhaps only because their blatant hatred is presented in a form against which we have been inoculated by earlier examples of the same ouvre. Goebbels liked this format too. When we see a trivial poseur of evil like Jack Chick trying to follow in the footsteps of his ethical forebears, I agree that it is better when we can laugh, however pityingly. Paul
