I didn't know if you would know, but > thought you would if anyone would. > > Sincerely, > > Lee In the days when folks used kerosene lamps for light, all types of spells were placed in these lamps -- often for help in drawing money, for keeping the law away, for drawing love, etc. Some item -- for instance, a lodestone or a pyrite to draw money, a John the Conqueror Root for male love-luick, etc. -- would be placed in the lamp reservoir and if the reservoir was glass, the kerosene would be tinted an appropriate colour (green for money, red for love, blue for peace in the home, etc.) The lamp would be kept trimmed and burning all the time, and refilled when necessary, like a perpetual votive candle. You can still buy glass-reservoir kerosense lamps and tinted lamp oil in my local hardware store, so i guess they would be easy to get anywhere.
