Depending on the object and what magical intent you have behind wearing it, these are many ways to bless, consecrate, empower, or dress an amulet or object for use. The methodss listed below can be done singly or in combinationm as you see fit -- and although not all may appeal to you, i can vouch for the fact that all of them are traditional and valued methods in one culture or another: * smoke it in an appropriate incense * make a tea of mugwort and wash it down, then pray over it * dress it with Van Van Oil or any other appropriate oil * anoint it with your sexual fluids * spit on it * urinate on it * wash it in whiskey * say three "Hail Marys" over it, making a cross-sign each time * pass it through or over a candle flame * sprinkle it with holy water or holy oil * speak an incantation of your choice over it * carry it to a sacred place and hold it while you meditate there * breathe on or into it * place it on an altar and burn candles and incense around it * file a tiny bit off it, boil the filings in milk, and drink them * keep it where the moon will shine on it for one month * place it next to a magical object of great power * bless it in the name of a sopecific person, spirit, or deity * inscribe it with your sigil or initials or with a word of power * carry it during a personally meaningful religious ceremony * ask or hire a root worker or clergy-person to bless it for you * name it and designate it for a specific purpose * wash it in water from a sacred spring * bury it in dirt from a sacred place for a certain amount of time * bury it in the ground and then dig it up again There are more methods -- siva and i have just run out of time to reply now or we'd list another dozen!
