50031203 vii om (Justin):
# I have identified my latent magical talents to be of
# the spellcaster type known as a mage (roughly defined
# as a person that affects the minds of people and animals
# through magic.)

compare: illusionist
         stage magician
         Neurolinguistic Programminig (NLP, Bandler+)

# I am looking for internet sites or books that are
# devoted to learning the mages typical skills.

affecting minds by means of magic could take several forms.
here are some that occur to me:

	a) persuasion

'Intranquility' spells are a prime example here.
they persuade or torment for the purpose of the
mage. 'Compelling' are another, less corrosive
spell type (persuading to follow through on some
	previously-agreed arrangements). in general these
pertain to manipulating the will or volition of
the spell target, trying to get them to move in
the direction desired by the spellcaster.

	b) healing or performance-enhancement

less overt mind-influence, though it may include
	such thing, pacification, or psychologically
stabilizing the spell target, or helping them
to think more clearly. summoning wisdom in a
	decision-making circumstance, or facility with
recall and logic during a test come to mind.

	c) mysticism

	communicating satori, enlightenment, or some
other fabulous mystical condition by virtue
of sustained or strategic intersection, this
is less commonly a part of magical spells than
	a participated conferment through initiation.
rituals, regular rites, and occult Adventures
are means by which mages approach this on an
	individual level, whereas intersection seem
more often to take abstract methods lying in
the depths of arcane institutions and secret
	power words (quasi-masonic, etc.).
