try again. Crowley didn't make this distinction,
it was one made by cybernauts short of admit defeat
at the hands of the stage mages that created alt.magic.

usually the alternative to stage magic is close-up 
magic. the idea is that these are performances,
though a good number of magicians know of overlaps
between performance and shamanism and 
prestidigitation, extending even to the occasional 
mysticism and implied arcane mystery.
