The Black Art technique has been used for centuries, ranging from such typical conjurors' tricks as the "Square Circle" and its numerous variations (which most kids who do magic work with) and goes up to the fantastic Prague Black Art theater. Black Art is a technique or principle, nothing more. Could it be used in for a pseudo-spiritualist effect? Absolutely. Of course, so have cameras. That does not make an instamatic a "quasi-occult form of" photography. Re
