To: alt.lucky.w From: "John M. Hansen"Subject: Graveyard dirt Date: Sat, 4 Mar 2000 00:59:28 -0500 Odds and ends, I was told by an old lady that grave yard dirt should be taken from a new grave if at all possiable. She said that it was the best kind of grave yard dirt. She also advised that a dime be placed 'right where you took the dirt from.' Another person, told me that grave yard dirt was taken to draw a spirit with it, as the spirit would follow the dirt from their grave. This man also told me to 'buy your way into the cemetary by placing three pennies at the entrance to the grave yard, on the outside, and buy your way out by placing nine pennies at the exit, on the inside.' About twenty years ago a New York City market commissioner decided to charge a botanica owner with fraud, as the 'grave yard dirt' he was selling was 'just dirt.' The market commissioner died of a sudden heart attack shortly there after, and the case was dropped. His replacement did not pursue the matter. My computer is ill, and my spell checker no longer works. I appologize for the misspellings. Regards, John M Hansen
