Hi cat,

Ditto to all previous comments. In the Belfond edition, the Poule
Noire is part of a long section entitled "Le véritable Dragon Noir et
la Poule Noire."
The "Old Man of the Pyramids" grimoire is in a completely different
section.

As I said before, the two grimoires are totally and completely
different. In the Poule Noire, you sneak up on a black pullet at
11:00 p.m., and sacrifice it for a blood ritual. The Old Man of the
Pyramids is about a sojourn in egypt and encountering an old sage
knowing how to conjure elementals using hermetic talismans. (This
latter is reminiscent of the theme of the Felt lecture lying at the
origin of the TS.)

Interestingly, the Poule Noire grimoire gives typical Catholic prayers
following the deed, for example, the "Ave", the "Veni Creator" etc.

The "Old Man of the Pyramids" deals with a talismanic art and has
nothing to do with sacrificing hapless pullets to the demiurge.

The Belfond edition furthermore give the following introductory
remarks to the Poule Noire:

reprendre . . ."

In other words, the goal of the Poule Noire (i.e., the Black Pullet)
ritual is to summon a demon and make a pact. It should not be
confused with the Old Man of lthe Pyramids grimoire, a kind of
hermetic talismanic art treatise. Thus, when you pick up your "Black
Pullet" translation, and its about the sage of the pyramids and
talismanic art, just note it should be titled "Old Man of the
Pyramids" instead.

I take it, though, that you don't have the actual "Black Pullet", but
instead, another book erroneously titled "the Black Pullet". I don't
know why you'd want the actual "Black Pullet" anyway, unless you want
to sell your soul to the devil. If so, then just around the corner
please . . .
