yes, you've said that many times. I'm not convinced this is good 
or at least complete advice. where individualism and deliberate 
collage in spirituality are concerned, the only options available
aren't restricted to what you've presented. you're just representing
the community-supporting rhetoric to move the Herd to societal norms.

seen from the other side in bias, I'd suggest that it is better to
avoid any socio-cultural bondage in ritual or other occult styles
until one knows to which one is enslaving hirself. only at that
point can a true dedication be made, and the result is far more
likely to conform with actuated desire (bhakti). 

yet both responses are extreme. circumstance and individual 
differences make universals impossible without coercion and unfair 
domination.

for those of your taste and upbringing. role-playing can be used
in spiritual and profound ways just like any other art, and what
one takes to be a god and another a cartoon is liable to vary.
