To: alt.magick From: dic5340@hertz.njit.edu (David Charlap) Subj: Ley Lines (0000.leylins.dc) Date: unknown There are many explanations of how magick works in the world. One of the common ones is that of lay lines. That is, there are "lines" of power criss-crossing across the face (and perhaps within) the planet Earth. When someone works magick, or uses such powers the energy is usually drawn from the user, which is then "trickle-charged" over time from the Earth. It is also possible to draw power directly from the Earth, which allows an experienced mage to use more power that he/she can contain within himself. How does this fit in with lay lines? Well, the closer one is to a lay line, the easier it is to draw power from the Earth. So one may recharge faster, or cast more powerful spells if one is drawing directly from it. Some people are sensitive to Earth-magick, and can sense the presence of lay lines. In addition, they often cross each other, and at the junctions, power is increased greatly (doubled, or multiplied, I don't know). Such sites are usually known and used as gathering points for magick rituals. Very often, there are churches built on these crossovers as well (Christians can also be magick-sensitive, even if they deny it). I hope this explains a bit. -- David -- David Charlap dic5340@hertz.njit.edu UUNET!rutgers!njitgw.njit.edu!hertz!dic5340, nothing but Net.
