How Does Horary Astrology Work?

Subject: How Does Horary Astrology Work?

I was asked as part of a recent bewitchment question, "...Could you
explain a bit about how you can determine this simply by where the
person is located?" Actually location is important, but only a part of
how horary astrology works.

Horary means "of, or relating to the hour" and is a type of astrology
that answers questions, not by looking at a chart of the heavens for the
time, place and date of a person's birth, but a chart for the time,
place and date of the asking of the question.

Renaissance philosophers and sages explained astrology through a number
of principles all based on the harmony and sympathy of the Cosmos.
First, "As Above, So Below" in other words the cycles of the heavens
reflect the cycles taking place here on Earth. Second, the beginning of
anything shows how it will grow, develop and end. Acorns don't grow
into anything other than oaks.

This explains how our birth horoscopes can foretell our character and
the events of our lives. By examining the position, state and
interactions of the planets at the exact time, date and place of our
birth we see the seed elements which will develop in our lives.

A horary chart is an accurate chart of the position, state and
interactions of the planets at the birth, not of a person or thing, but
of a question. The order and sympathy of the Cosmos is so perfect that
the Mind and Will of the querent asking a serious question and the
alignment of the planets coincide, allowing the question to be judged
from a horary chart.

So location is important because without knowing the exactly when and
where the question is asked we cannot get an accurate horary chart,
which is necessary for accurate judgment.
