(Chapter XI) a mention, yes. > Further, Chapter XIII seems rather obviously > to refer to masturbation in order to create > useful demons. YMMV, but it looks rather > straightforward to me..... black magic, by Crowleyan standards. he doesn't make much mention of practical or even theoretical details surrounding masturbation. that is, I do not think that Crowley "covers" the subject here, other than mentioning that the "Gluten" of women ('Eagles' generally) does not contain magical substance (something for which Grant will later make up through his obsession with it as a magical substance; perhap also see Bertiaux). > As far as the XI degree and homosexuality, > I have admitted that I may have been > mistaken about its import, but whatever it > is, it is also covered in de Arte Magica. I think equating a mention to a coverage is mistaken. Crowley avoids, at least in his overt text and even in this particular essay, any description of how masturbation or homosexuality might become part of his magicK. "De Arte Magica" is primarily concerned with a description of heterosexual sex magicK, about which Crowley wrote precious little in any quantity. it is left for those such as Spare and subsequent authors to focus on autosexual endeavours and Grant and his wake to correct Crowley concerning the value and power of Gluten (female sexual effluvia). Savory (breast milk) and PBRandolph (bodily energies) come close, but do not venture into this more forbidden territory. probably those tantrics who might write about the quasi- pranic 'charge' of sexual fluids and hadn't locked into the male-centered perspective of practice might posit something similar, but I'm unsure of reliable references to such theories. Grant ostensibly draws from such sources, but I'm unsure of how much stock to place in his assertions from a sociocultural (as compared to fabricated -- e.g. Levi) and anthropological standpoint. I don't remember anything from Taoist sources on the magical or chi-filled feminine fluids. nagasiva -- FREE HOODOO CATALOGUE! send street address to: catalogue@luckymojo.com mailto:nagasiva@luckymojo.com ; http://www.luckymojo.com/nagasiva.html ; mailto:boboroshi@satanservice.org ; http://www.satanservice.org/ emailed replies may be posted; cc replies if response desired
