The artist is K. Rudin, a friend and former colleague of R. Crumb's
during their days together at the American Greetins Co. in Ohio, where
they both got their start back in the 1960s before breaking away to
become hippies. K. was the first oublished woman underground cartoonist
on the West Coast, and long ago took up the career of videography. She
is a member of HAVC, the Headwaters Action Video Collective, which
produces pro-environmental films. She is a former fellow-communard of
mine (from Equitable Farm commune) and a former housemate of mine as
well.

Thanks for pointing this out, Douglas. I came up with the Lucky Swastika
Penis Oil product name in large part because of ManWoman's work. He is
an inspiration to many.

Yes. And the swastika is not only Hindu -- i have a beautiful,
contemporary made-in-China lotus-born Buddha with a swastika on him,
too.

Yes, that is what i am saying.

The swastika is also an ancient Native American symbol. Prior to WWII,
many Anglo-Americans identified it with the Southwest Indians, as can be
seen on old postcards and greeting cards.

I have a very nice American-made beaded item that bears the initials
J.B.Y. and a black swastika on a white background. It is a simple
strap-woven beaded piece of the type either made for a merit badge by
Girl and Boy Scouts, or, during the 1920s, made on a "while you wait"
basis by Indians for tourists at places like the Fred Harvey restaurant
chain in Arizona and New Mexico. It was found in an estate collection of
Native American bead-work that had been put away and wrapped in
1929-dated newspapers. Siva is scanning it right now, and by the time i
post this, it will be up at my web site for you to enjoy.
